《Amphibians of China Volume II(中国两栖动物 Volume II)》是1994年中国和学者合作的编研项目,其书是依据两国作者数十年野外实地考察和室内研究的积累,并参阅相关文献资料括核型和分子系统学研究成果),经过综合研究编著而成。《Amphibians of China Volume II(中国两栖动物 Volume II)》分为个两部分:引括中国两栖动物研究简况、中国的自然概况、两栖动物物种多样性及其分布、两栖动物的生态类型、两栖动物术语和量度共5个章节;各论记述了各阶元拉丁学名、英文名、异名、形态特征、生物学资料,种群现状、地理分布及评述等。共记述中国已知的403种(亚种),分隶97属(亚属),22科(亚科),其括新属10个,新亚属2个,新种1种,新亚种2种;各阶元特征采用对应编码,有助系统学研究。还有中国两栖动物检索、主要参考文献、成体、蝌蚪、卵群,染色体及地理分布表、模式标本保存单位、拉丁名索引。文内共有各类图片2000幅左右括骨骼,雌雄成体,蝌蚪、卵群),多数图片是依据模式标本模式标本产地标本拍摄或绘制的动\。
