Wang Xiong is a member of the Chinese Writers Association and an adjunct professor at Southwest Jiaotong University and Suzhou University of Science and Technology. He began his literary career in 1989 and has since become a prolific writer， producing novels， essays， academic papers， and non-fiction works totaling 7.5 million words. Many of his works have been published in journals such as People‘s Daily， People’s Literature， Chinese Writers， Youth Literature， Selected Stories， Beijing Literature， and Selected Novelettes. His notable books include the Hanshui Culture Trilogy， comprising Yin/Yang Monument， The Time-honored Patina， and The Jingui Silver Chamber， as well as the China’s High-Speed Rail Trilogy， which includes China’s High-Speed Rail: A Story of Speed and Development， China‘s High-speed Rail: A New Model for Technology Innovation， and China’s High-Speed Rail: Changing the Face of China. Some of his books have been co-published by the Foreign Languages Press and international publishers， and have been translated into multiple languages， including English， French， German， Spanish， Russian， Arabic， Japanese， Romanian， and Polish.
