With the acceleration of the internationalization of higher education and the deepening of the Belt and Road initiative， the demand for international construction professionals is increasing rapidly. Therefore， lots of universities have been build up civil engineering programmes taught in English in order to attract international undergraduates and postgraduates. Main contents of this textbook include introduction， foundation of civil engineering economics， time value and equivalent calculation， evaluation methods for construction projects， deprecation and replacement decisions， dealing with uncertainty and risks， financial accounting and value engineering. It not only covers basis knowledge of civil engineering economics， but also adds abundant real cases in industries such as construction， transportation， and water conservancy. It shows construction achievements of our country and has distinctive Chinese characteristics and practical characteristics. Current textbook refers to multiple original English ”Engineering Economics” textbooks and domestic bilingual textbooks.
