Gratitude is a traditional virtue of the Chinese nation. As we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the CPC’s founding， we should never forget that for 100 years， many international friends have enthusiastically and selflessly helped the CPC and the Chinese people in a great spirit of internationalism. Since modern times， the longsuffering Chinese nation， from independence to prosperity， has come to this day to embrace the bright prospect of realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. In this process， international friends have played a signif icant role and made an indelible contribution. For this reason， this book selects representative international friends of the CPC from different periods and tells their life stories in a concise style， especially their moving deeds of sharing weal and woe with the Chinese people， to convey the Chinese people’s gratitude， encourage more international friends to join China’s socialist modernization drive， and make new and greater contributions to promoting exchanges and cooperation with the rest of the world， maintaining world peace， and building a community of shared future for humanity.

单伟，男，毕业于南京大学国际关系史专业，现任中共中央党史和文献研究院第七研究部审稿处副处长。长期从事中国共产党历史和中国特色社会主义理论研究。曾作为宣讲团成员赴欧洲、非洲有关国家宣介党的有关会议精神。曾参与马工程、国家社科基金重大项目《共产党执政规律研究》课题，在《人民日报》《学习时报》《中国社会科学报》发表多篇研究文章。
