“汽车专业英语”是本科院校车辆工程、汽车服务工程专业以及高职院校汽车检测与维修、汽车电子技术、汽车技术服务与营销等专业的专业教育课程，可支撑相关专业职业教育能力的发展。学生通过系统学习汽车专业英语知识，熟练掌握汽车研发与制造、汽车后市场服务行业维修、营销等岗位工作所必需的英语词汇，具备阅读和翻译汽车行业英语资料的能力，从而满足汽车行业相关岗位对英语的要求，并最终能从事相关工作。
本书由安徽省高等学校质量工程项目（项目编号2017ghjc417）支持，全书共4个模块、15个单元，每个单元均按照以下内容进行编排，特色鲜明。
第一部分图解英语（Illustrated English）注重趣味性、直观性和实用性，以提高学生的学习兴趣和满足未来从业时市场对从业者的客观要求。
第二部分专业阅读（Technical and Practical Reading）为单元主体，包括一篇精选文章和相关练习等内容，可以帮助学生了解汽车各部分的功能及应用，是学生进入企业后应用较多的必学内容。
第三部分交际会话（Listening and Speaking）包括一篇精选对话，对话内容贴近实际，贴近企业岗位的常用专业英语会话，用于提高学生口语交际能力。
第四部分阅读材料（Reading Material）将专业阅读的知识适当拓展，链接一些与主题相关的有趣的、具有代表性的新技术、新方法和新原理等内容。
本书由黄昭明、王良模、王利任主编，肖平、王爱国主审。单元1由皖江工学院王良模和黄昭明合作编写；单元2、单元3和单元4由宣城职业技术学院王利和阜阳职业技术学院王欢欢共同编写；单元5、单元6由皖江工学院王旻晨和无锡南洋职业技术学院宗桂琴共同编写；单元7、单元8由皖江工学院颜婷婷编写；单元9、单元10由安徽工业大学潘海洋和田金杯共同编写；单元11、单元12由安徽工程大学韩利敏编写；单元13、单元14、单元15由皖江工学院黄昭明和安徽机电职业技术学院倪晋挺合作编写。
