导入（Leading In and Exploring）： 导课部分趣味性强，选取热门话题与本单元内容紧密相连，通过设置话题，要求学生小组或结对式讨论，使得学生积极参与，互动，从而提高学生英语口语能力。并且围绕主题给出主题相关词汇，辅助学生参与讨论的同时也扩大了词汇量。
课文（Text A & B）： 每单元包含两篇主题相近的课文，强调知识性和趣味性。主要选择国外书刊，通常包含一个故事。题材包括态度重要性，节日，网络纪元，礼物，健康生活，名人，时尚，职场女性等。内容新颖，语言生动有趣。
主要目的是加强学生的阅读能力和文化交际能力。
生词和短语词组 Words and Expressions ： 生词和短语中文释义，力求简洁准确，主要为了帮助学生扩大词汇量。
注释 Notes ： 对课文中涉及的社会，历史，文化，人名，地名等专有名词提供背景知识介绍，对一些难点及特殊的语言点也给予必要的解释。
习题 Exercises ： 课文A中包括三类题型，分别是阅读与思考（read and think），阅读与填空（read and complete），阅读与翻译（read and translate。课文B中包括三类题型，分别是阅读与判断（read and Judge，阅读与填空（read and complete），阅读与翻译（read and translate。
语法知识 Grammar Tips ： 按语法项目进行较系统的专项练习，为学生语言技能的培养打基础。
实用写作 Practical Writing ： 参考高等学校英语应用能力考试B级的题型及内容，结合高职高专学生今后职业生涯中应用英语的实际，并根据（基本要求）中有关语言交际能力的具体要求，着重安排实用性应用文章，如自我介绍名片，贺卡通知，邀请函，道歉信，祝贺信等。
