PREFACE
With the vigorous development of economy and the rise of international status of China, learning Chinese is no longer just a personal interest, but becomes an increasingly important tool language.
Nowadays, Chinese learners probably can be roughly divided into two groups： full-time students and the learners to meet the needs of communication in daily life and work.
Traditional Chinese teaching materials, usually set in the scenes of overseas study or daily life, only focused on the regional language features, with too much professional grammars and lengthy texts and new words. Such teaching materials have been unable to meet the requirements of the majority of learners.
The author team of this series of textbooks, with nearly 20 years of teaching experience, aims to make the Chinese learning easy and simple to grasp by breaking the traditional teaching patterns, explaining the new words in brief and concise English and formulizing the usage of the words with great examples.
Illustrate the phrase a little bitas an example. It can be translated as a littlein Chinese but it differs a lot in usage. We can explain the similarities and differences by comparing two formulas a little bit adj. and adj.a little bit. A little bit adj. is to show one is less satisfied; adj. a little bitis used to compare. For example, This room is a little bit small, do you have a bigger one?This method gives much more attention to the practice rather than the theory, and it can help learners distinguish and memorize the new words more efficiently.
The compiling team consists of the Chinese teachers with a decade of teaching experiences. The profound knowledge of the problems students often encountered in the daily study makes the compiling more practical and efficient. To meet the market''s large appetite for the qualified Chinese teaching textbooks, all the compiling team members strive for the new modes, creating this series of textbooks in one year and a half.
This series of textbooks, written in English, is translated by Ms. Huang Ye who has lived overseas for years. Her years'' experience in teaching Chinese as a foreign language guarantees the accuracy of the media language to the greatest extent.
This series of textbooks, divided into nine levels, a total of three books, each book including three levels, each level 18 classes, one book 54 classes, can help the students improve their English step by step. For example, the title E 508, E represents elementary, 5 the grade label, and 08the text label.
New words in this series of textbooks are stem from the HSK test syllables with some extensions. The amount of the new words is 1 020 reaching HSK Level 3.
