本教材是“十二五”职业教育国家规划教材。在内容上，根据广大高职高专会展专业学生的英语课程设置要求和特点，本教材分为三大部分。第一部分为会议及其服务，涉及会议前期计划筹备、会议现场管理与服务和会后旅游。第二部分为展览会，包括招展、布展及现场服务等环节。第三部分为节事活动，系统地阐述了节事活动中的前期筹备、中期筹备和节事活动现场管理与服务等环节。每部分都涵盖了专业性的知识及常用的交际英语，具有较强的实用性。
