徐小牛,isProfessorofSilvicultureandForestBiogeochemistryaltheAnhuiAgriculturalUniversity.wherehehasbeenamemberofthefacultyintheSchoolofForestryandLandscapeArchitecturesince1983.HereceivedhisM.A.fromtheUniversityoftheRyukyusin1999andhisPh.D.fromKagoshimaUniversityofJapanin2002.During2003-2005,hewasapost-doctorfellowtoconductresearchonbiogeochemistryofforestecosysteminHokkaidoUniversityofJapan.
Hewasawardedanationalmodelteacherin2009.
Hisresearchhasconcernedawiderangeofecologicallevels,includingecologicalphysiology,communityecology,ecosystemecology.forestbiogeochemistry,anddisturbanceecology.Hiscurrentresearchconcernstheeffectsofforestmanagementoncarbonsequestration,thenaturaldisturbances(e.g.typhoon,herbivory,icestorm)ondynamicsandbiogeochemistryofforestecosystems.
Throughouthiscareer,theauthorhasattemptedtocombineresearch,teachingandservice,involvingundergraduateaswellasgraduatestudentsinhisongoingprojects.Hehastaughtabroadrangeoflowerdivision,upperdivision,andgraduatecourses,includingIntroductiontoForestScience,PrinciplesofSilviculture,Aboriculture,Ecosystemecology,Biogeochemistry.
