《新编英语语法教程（教师用书第5版修订版）》第五版分为“学生用书”和“教师用书”。教师用书除在“导论”中详述本书的体系特征外，主要包括两大部分：英文讲授提纲和练习参考答案。英文讲授提纲是严格按照学生用书的章节顺序编写的，以便英语专业老师用英语备课和讲课时作参考。练习参考答案，顾名思义，是参考性的，因为不少练习可有不同答案，而本书只给一种；还有一些练习的答案，虽然给了，但未说明其所以然，老师在讲课时还须加以发挥，甚至还可展开讨论。
